The Uriet Hammam

This hammam was in use until the 1963 earthquake, when it got severely damaged. The hammam was located near the Alaja Mosque on its north side. It was built after the Young Turk Revolution of 1908 and was named after it (Hϋrriyet Hamami), but it is not known exactly who built it. The Muslim population in Skopje preserved the memory that the founder of this building was a certain Ahmed-efendi. This was a single hammam. Above the changing room, there was a roof of four waters with a skylight on top. The remaining rooms were covered in the usual way, with domes.
